Junior Winds Camp will strengthen the fundamentals of young wind and brass players through
individual instruction and group performance. Students will work on two instruments – their
primary instrument, and a secondary wind or brass instrument. Secondary instruments will be
decided upon by the camp faculty and provided by NJYS. A typical camp day includes sectionals,
fundamentals, snack time, musical games, and full ensemble rehearsals. Prerequisite: Six months
playing experience. Entrance by audition; audition is waived for students currently in an NJYS
ensemble. This camp takes place at 570 Central Avenue in New Providence.
