Yuan Peng (617-306-8751), born and raised in China,
grew up highly involved in music. At age of 13, she passed the
piano test (The Music Examination Committee of the Chinese
Musicians' Association) for National Level 10 in China, and
she traveled to many cities from Hunan Province to Beijing to
perform. She earned many awards at the regional level. At age
of 16, she came to the United States with her family and continued
studying music. As a student of Rieko Aizawa, Yuan earned her
Undergraduate Diploma from Longy School of Music of Bard
College and Bachelor of Music from Emerson College. She
was majoring in piano performance and she received Longy
Scholarship and academic honors during her undergraduate.
Yuan actively participated in chamber music such as piano
trio and music festivals such as Walnut Hill Music Festival.
She has been teaching for 3 years. She is patient and
beginners are never intimidated with the way she teach
because she knows where they are coming from. She is now
working for Piano Playtime at public schools in Boston area.
