A peculiar hiatus emerged amidst their engrossed conversation.
Plodding myself into my room, I kept thinking about Pragnanth for the
umpteenth time. My mind once again raced back to the past.
A fortnight after our heated conversation, Pragnanth and I started
working on the serum. Days turned to months but alas, no progress was
sighted. Unlike our previous inventions, this was a total uphill struggle.
Failures prevailed every time I started the project anew. Offended, I
studied every element of the serum again, badly willing for a
breakthrough. Thanks to my lucky stars, I figured out the formula of the
serum. Without any ado, I started inventing the serum again. Soon, in my
palm rested the serum which seemed unbelievable as much as it looked. I
was on cloud nine.
However, my eternity-like happiness came to an inevitable end when it
dawned on me that this serum would soon change hands. The feeling of
having me got rid of my incessant toil made me go berserk. Grudgingly, I
rang Pragnanth up and informed him about the serum. Minutes passed
by and there, came Pragnanth with a broad smile on his face, marching
his way for the serum.
“Well, well. All this toil for a small tube of green liquid. So, why don’t you
try it?”.
“Apologies, “boss”. You’re going to confiscate this from me. So, why don’t
you give it a try instead?”, I told with feigned reluctance.
The moment Pragnanth injected the serum, he felt giddy. His pupils
constricted. Veins bulged out on his complexion. The serum pumped
through his branching veins, rushing vehemently into his brain. Soon, he
lost consciousness. I was transfixed. Engulfed in perplexity, I had no idea
what to do. My mind battled in turmoil.
