A year later and Minti Motorsport really made an
impact on Kenyan rallying. The team arrived at the East
African Safari Classic with three mouth watering cars – a
Datsun Violet GT for returnee Scott Armstrong, a last

Osian Pryce and a stunningly prepared Datsun 240RS for
Joey!
A positive influence
Results were mixed – Osian opened his African rallying
book by going fastest outright on the qualifying stage
and then put in some remarkable times to finish ninth
overall and top “non Porsche”! Finishing just one car
behind him was Scott Armstrong, scoring his second
Classic finish in as many attempts. Sadly Joey was an
early casualty with transmission woes, but the car was
quick and certainly looked the part!
Since then Minti Motorsport have had an amazingly
positive influence in Kenya. In 2021 the team
supported Kenyan Rally Champions Flash Tundo and
Tim Jessop with a state of the art VW Polo R5 for the
African Championship, which the pair duly dominated
– winning each championship round and taking
