3. Place the edge of a set-square along this vertical

diameter with the right-angle touching the
centre.

4. Draw a horizontal radius from the centre to the

east point.
5. Draw a diameter from the east point to the west

point.
6. Reduce the arms of your compass by 1 cm.

7. Place the compass point on the north point and

draw an arc which intercepts the circumference
in two places.

8. Place the compass point on the west point and
draw an arc which intersects the first arc in two

places.
