To protect senior citizens on the road, Ajman Police and the Emirates Friends
of Seniors’ Citizens Association are launching the “Slow down” initiative
As part of a series of efforts to achieve quality of life and happiness for
senior citizens, the General Headquarter of Ajman Police, in cooperation
with the Ministry of Community Development represented by the Emirates
Friends of Seniors’ Citizens Association, launched the “slow down”
initiative to raise the drivers’ awareness about the importance of senior
citizens and give them the right of priority on the road and avoid doing the
behaviors that cause them confusion on the road.
His Excellency Major General Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi,
Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, said that senior citizens are our
fathers and grandfathers who sacrificed for us in the past and we must
return the favor to them. The launch of the initiative came from the
keenness of Ajman Police and its feeling of responsibility towards them
by enhancing their security and their protection on the road.
His Excellency added that Ajman Police will provide all senior citizens’
vehicles with a special sticker for the initiative to be placed on the back
windshield of senior citizens ’vehicles to notify drivers that the driver of
the vehicle in front of them is one of the senior citizens, so he does not
intentionally harm him or restrict him and give him the right of priority,
which creates a positive driving culture on the road and cultivates
happiness in the souls of community members.
The Ajman Police Commander-in-Chief called on drivers to adhere to
traffic and traffic laws and to cooperate with Ajman Police in the success of the initiative by slowing down and giving priority to
senior citizens in appreciation and respect wishing safety for all.
For her part, Mrs. Maryam Salem Al Salman, President of the Emirates Friends of Seniors’ Citizens Association, said that the
initiative supports the exerted efforts to achieve the vision of leadership and the wise government by enhancing the quality of
life and by enhancing the security and safety of senior citizens. This is achieved by instilling awareness and positive behaviors
in the hearts of drivers on the road to provide them with safe driving.
Ajman Police makes customers happy by providing a charging device for electric
vehicles at Al Nuaimiya Al-Shamil Police Station
Within the framework of its endeavor for achieving the Ministry of Interior’s
strategic objective of enhancing public satisfaction with the provided services
and supporting the UAE strategy for developing electric vehicles for customers
at the police station, Ajman Police makes customers happy by providing a
charging device for electric vehicles at Al Nuaimiya Al-Shamil Police Station.
Lt. Col. Muhammad Abdullah Abu Shihab, head of Al-Nuaimiya Al-Shamil Police
Station, said that the initiative to provide a charging device for electric vehicles
came as a result of SAA initiative with the customer. During the meeting held
for the initiative, one of the customers suggested to provide the station with a
vehicle charging device and an allocated parking lot at the station, so that the
customer could charge his vehicle while completing his transaction. The idea
was welcomed and was implemented directly at the station.
The head of Al- Nuaimiya Al-Shamil Police Station added that the initiative
supports the UAE’s green development strategy and the Ajman Government
2021 strategy towards a happy society and a green economy, as well as the
UAE’s way to encourage the use of electric vehicles as they enhance the quality
of life and preserve the environment.
