There is a strong social component to membership of the CA. Members can
join any of a number of sections. These are split into cruising and regional
sections. Cruising sections relate to individual cruising areas, e.g.
Mediterranean, European Inland Waterways, Channel, etc. Regional
sections are inland sections such as Kent, Solent, South West. There are
currently seven cruising sections and nine regional sections. The cruising
sections usually hold their meetings at Limehouse out of the sailing season
and the regional sections have a programme of meetings and lectures
within their region during the winter. The London section runs a series of
lectures every week throughout the winter and the convivial atmosphere
at Limehouse is enhanced by some excellent cuisine and of course the bar.
Furthermore there are the cabins if you wish to stay on overnight.
