INVESTIGATION THE CONVERGENCE OF FEMALE LABOR FORCE
PARTICIPATION: AN APPLICATION FOR OECD COUNTRIES

Female labor force participation rate (FLFP) has increased in most of the Organization for Economic Co-operation
and Development (OECD) countries over the past years. The timing of the increase in FLFP differs across countries.
The increase of the FLFP in the United States starts earlier but the increase in Spain, Greece, Ireland and Portugal
and Germany is observed in the last two decades. Turkey has the lowest female employment rate between the OECD
countries. This study investigates the convergence of FLFP via using the convergence club algorithm developed by
Phillips and Sul (2007) by employing the annual data for the case of OECD countries, spanning the period -2000
2016. The methodology follows the club clustering approach and the empirical findings shows the presence of certain
               convergent clubs.
