Advancement, Office of

Advancement is responsible for raising funds to support Smith's objectives from alumnae, parents, friends, foundations, corporations and
government agencies. Requests for use of the alumnae database must be approved through this office.
Alumnae Association

The Alumnae Association of Smith College, founded in 1881, provides support to alumnae, undergraduates, and the college. The association
provides services and programs to a worldwide network of more than 40,000 alumnae.
Athletics and Recreation

Smith College fields 14 varsity intercollegiate teams. Intramural and club sport activities are also supported through the athletic department.

The Grécourt Bookshop, located in the Campus Center, carries required texts for Smith courses, a selection of general books, stationery
supplies, imprinted clothing and gifts and college rings. Store hours will be posted in each house and outside the store.
Building Services

Building services, a division of the Smith College Facilities Management, provides custodial and housekeeping services to the student
residences. Primary contact with Building Services is achieved through the Facilities Management customer service center. Because of the
volume of requests received, it is important that routine requests be written on the work request form on the head resident’s door, which is
checked daily. Emergencies (e.g. over-flowing water, safety hazards, no heat, no power) should be reported immediately through the customer
service center during regular work hours, or to Campus Police (at ext. 2490) after hours and on weekends.

The Campus Center is the community center of the College, and houses a number of offices and services including the Café, the Grécourt
Bookstore, a TV lounge, game room, the student-run radio station WOZQ, Student Government Association offices, student clubs and
organizations resource/workroom, the Campus Center and Student Activities Office, the campus post office and student mail boxes, and the
information desk.
