1. Practice introducing the following family members to Ms. Sato:

3) daughter;
4) wife and children.
2. Ask Ms. Sato where her family lives. Are they doing well? Does she talk to
them frequently?
3. You’ve been asked about your future plans. Mention that you want to find a
job in Japan.

4. Ask a friend what kind of company she wants to work for (be employed by).
5. Show a family picture to a friend and explain who’s who in the picture.

Marriage

Michael noticed Ms. Suzuki wearing a wedding ring.
Michael: So, are you married, Ms. Suzuki?

Suzuki-san, kekkon-shite iru n desu ka.
鈴木さん、結婚しているんですか。

Suzuki: Yes, I got married in 2010.
Un, ni-sen jū-nen ni kekkon-shita no.

うん、2010年に結婚したの。
Michael: I didn’t know. Do you have any children?

Shirimasen deshita. Oko-san wa?
知りませんでした。お子さんは?

Suzuki: I want children, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Hoshi’i kedo ne. Mada na no.
