Cue: Kore wa i’i aidea desu ka.
Is this a good idea?

Response: E’e, i’i aidea da to omoimasu.
Yes, I think so.

Cue: Ano hito wa kimasen ka.
Will that person not be coming?

Response: E’e, konai to omoimasu.
No, I don’t think he will.

Repeat the drill with the following:
1. Ano kodomo wa go-sai desu ka.
2. Shiken wa daijōbu desu ka.
3. Kaigi wa Getsu-yōbi deshita ka.
4. Ano gakusei wa apāto ni sunde imasu ka.
5. Mēru wa kimashita ka.

PATTERN PRACTICE 2

Cue: Takai to omoimasu ka.
Do you think it’s expensive?

Response: Ie, takai to wa omoimasen kedo…
No, I don’t think it is, but…

Cue: Eigo perapera da to omoimasu ka.
Do you think he is fluent in English?

Response: Ie, perapera da to wa omoimasen kedo…
No, I do not think he is, but…

Repeat the drill using the following:
1. Kekkon-shitai desu ka.
2. Oishikunai desu ka.
3. Minna shitte imasu ka.
