          Among the deadliest but least celebrated pilots to fi ght
          the Luftwaffe during Britain’s time of need were Poland’s
          fi ghter aces. This is the story of their fi nest hour

               ugust 1940: for three weeks, the men   them, began in their homeland of Poland and
