               Mýrtou Bay Area,
     Kefalloniá

With its iconic white crescent-shaped beach, bright turquoise sea and
mountainous backdrop, Mýrtou Bay (Kolpos Mýrtou) has been voted
one of the most beautiful bays in the world, and is certainly the most
photographed in the Ionians. Often known as Myrtos, it is flanked by
two mountains, Agia Dynati and Kalon Oros, and can be reached by a
road of hairpin bends that descends sharply from the mountain village
     of Divarata. South of
     the bay lies the small
     yet bustling fishing
     village Agia Effimia.
