THE LOVE PARADE

HALLOWEEN PARADE, NEW YORK CITY, USA The world’s
largest Halloween party (October 31) boasts more than 50,000
participants and 2 million spectators dressed as giant ghosts,
goblins, dinosaurs, skeletons, and all manner of monsters.
FANTASY FEST, KEY WEST, USA This huge Caribbean-style
fancy-dress party stretches over ten party-filled days at the end
of October and culminates in the Captain Morgan Fantasy Fest
Parade, where camp costumes and buckets of body paint rule.
GAY PRIDE, SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL With an annual attendance
of millions, this event, held in June, is one of the largest of its kind.
Brazil knows how to throw a great party and this one, with its
techno beats, carnival floats, and wild costumes, is no exception.
GAY PRIDE, AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS A week of
street parties in the Dutch capital culminates in the Gay Pride
Canal Parade on the first Saturday in August. Spectators line the
Prinsengracht to watch a procession of 100 decorated boats.
