BESTIVAL, ISLE OF WIGHT, UK This off-the-wall festival is a
relative newcomer. The three-day event, held in the late
summer, boasts weird and wonderful attractions, such as a
Victorian insect circus, as well as big-name performers.
BONNAROO MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL, TENNESSEE, USA
At Bonnaroo, which takes place every June on a huge plot in
rural Tennessee, camping is the done thing. Bands affiliated with
the “jam” subcategory of rock perform for fans of all ages.
ROSKILDE, DENMARK Scandinavia has its own glorious rock
festival, with a history stretching back more than 30 years.
Attendance at the four-day festival, which begins on the last
Sunday in June, grows nearly every year.
SEATTLE FOLKLIFE FESTIVAL, WASHINGTON, USA Held on
the same grounds as Bumbershoot on May’s Memorial Day
weekend, this free festival features ethnic and authentic folk
music from all corners of the globe. More music, less amplitude.
