SURINAM TOAD 139
Fingers
Surinam toads are also known
as star-fingered toads.This
wonderfully descriptive name
is due to the unusual shape
of their fingertips.These are
highly sensitive and help the
toads to find food.
Body
All Surinam toads have a
flattened body shape,with long
legs, a triangular head and
broadly webbed feet.They are
usually a mottled green-brown
colour resembling dead leaves.
