ROOM RECALL
Have everyone examine
the room you’re in. Pick
someone to leave the room.
While he or she is out,
change one thing (e.g., turn
over a pillow, move a plant).
Have the person return
and try to spot the item
that is different.
COIN CONCENTRATION
Gather five different coins
and have your child study
them. Then scatter the
coins and see if your kid can
recreate the pattern (take
a picture first to help you
both check the answer!).
For a bigger challenge, see
if your child can remember
whether each coin showed
heads or tails. Add coins
if it gets too easy!
TRAY TIME
Place 10 objects on a tray.
Give your kids a minute to
study the tray, then move it
out of sight. Challenge each
child to write down as many
of the objects as he or she
can remember. Add a few
GETTY IMAGES. round or take one away
more objects for each
and see if kids can figure
out what’s missing.
