CLONE TALES
CUT LAWQUANE
• DESERTER AND FAMILY MAN
Although proving themselves in combat was
a point of pride for the clones, those who
chose to set aside their blasters were equally
accomplished. Cut Lawquane had a key part
to play in the story of the Republic’s downfall,
despite having left the military. He eventually
married Suu Lawquane and started a family
farm on the planet Saleucami with his wife
and two adopted children, Shaeeah and Jek.
Captain Rex discovered Cut when he took
shelter in the farmer’s barn. Initially, Rex
wanted to report Cut to the army for desertion,
but Cut’s devotion to his family—and his trust
in Rex when a fragment of the war eventually
came to his door—persuaded Rex to stay quiet.
Cut is deferential and idealistic, but his
strongly held belief that people can choose
to be whatever they want has steel beneath CUT LAWQUANE

Gregor was stranded on the planet Abafar
after the starship crash that left him without
his memories. Abafar is a harsh planet: its
strange, oppressively flat deserts are more than
enough to drive wanderers insane. Gregor
crashed near one of the planet’s towns and
made a deal with a diner cook who would give
Gregor a place to stay in exchange for working
for him. The cook proved to be a cruel
taskmaster, but Gregor considered himself
lucky to have found any place to stay.
The arrival of R2-D2 and the rest of
D-Squad (a military team composed entirely
of droids) changed Gregor’s fortune. They
recognized him as a clone and reunited him
with his armor. This jogged his memory
enough to reignite the fighting spirit he was
trained for, enabling him to help D-Squad foil
a Separatist plot.
Gregor survived until the Rebellion, living
with Rex and his brothers on a walking All
Terrain Tactical Enforcer (AT-TE) platform.
