                            Piero della Francesca painted this
                            great work in 1475 for Federico da
                             Montefeltro, the Duke of Urbino,
                              who is portrayed dressed in a
                                 Milanese suit of armour.

                                            Gallery Guide
                                            The Brera Gallery has 38 rooms, with
                                            works arranged in chronological order.
                                            The only exception is Room 10, where
                                            the Jesi and Vitali collections are on
                                            display. It includes 20th-century works
                                            which will be exhibited elsewhere in
                                            future. The paintings are also grouped
                                            together by schools of painting
                                            (Venetian, Tuscan, Lombard, etc.).
                                            The Sala della Passione on the ground
                                            floor is used for temporary exhibitions.
