P. 84

Adjectives—in this chapter, colors and nouns—are linked by na. The word order
of adjectives and nouns is interchangeable. Thus, we can say itim na bag and
                 bag na itim.
Many learners may get confused, however, because the linker na is
contracted in conversational Filipino when it is preceded or followed by a word
                 ending with a vowel. For example, pula na telepono becomes pulang telepono;
and telepono na pula becomes pulang telepono.

As an example used in a sentence, we can say, Kanino ang pulang telepono?
Whose is the red phone? (literally, Whose marker red linker phone?)

                  Rebyu (Review)

Before proceeding to the next dialogue, it might be useful to review numbers and
pronouns. Go back to the preceding chapter to review them.
                 1. Mga Numero (Numbers)
                 2. Mga Panghalip (Pronouns): Ko, Mo, Niya
                 3. Mga Demonstratibong Panghalip (Demonstrative Pronouns) Ito, Iyan, Iyon

Dayalogo: Kaninong Bag Ito? (Whose bag is this?)

Read the dialogue below. After completing this chapter, practice this dialogue using
              your own information.

PEDRO : Maria, bag mo ba ito?
                         Maria, is this your bag?

MARIA : Hindi akin iyan. Iyong nasa ibabaw ng mesa ang bag ko.
That's not mine. The bag above the table is my bag.

             MARIA : Kaninong bag ito?
                         Whose bag is this?
             MARIA : Kay Clara iyan.

                         That's Clara's bag.
