              Study the following words and how they are used in sentences.


             Mga Salita hinggil sa Pag-aari (Words about Ownership)



             Kay      : Marker to indicate ownership. Used only for proper nouns.
                       Kay Clara iyan. That is Clara's. (literally, Of Clara that.)

             Kina : Plural marker to indicate ownership. Used only for proper nouns.
                       Kina Maria at Clara ang mga iyan. Those are Maria's and Clara's.

             Sa       : Marker to indicate ownership. Used for nouns.
                       Sa kaibigan ko iyan. That is my friend's.

             Kanya : Hers
                       Kanya iyan. That is hers.
             Kanila : Theirs

                       Kanila iyan. That is theirs.
             Akin     : Mine

                       Akin iyan. That is mine.
             Amin : Ours (plural exclusive pronoun)
                       Amin iyan. That is ours. (refers only to the person/s speaking)

             Atin     : Ours (inclusive pronoun)
                       Atin iyan. That is ours. (refers to both the person/s speaking and the
                       person/s being addressed)

             Object)



              Look at the image below. As you read the sentences, try to locate the object/s in the
              image. This will help you understand the words below and how the words can be
              used  in  sentences.  Note  that  when  used  in  a  sentence,  these  words  need  the
              preposition nasa, indicating location.


             Ibabaw            : On
                                 Nasa ibabaw ng mesa ang libro.

             Ilalim            : Under
                                 Nasa ilalim ng mesa ang payong.
