Shark

S harks may have a fearsome reputation, but they are much more

interested in fish than in us. In fact, sharks are more intriguing
than scary. A tiny lantern shark could fit in an adult’s hand and can

glow in the dark, while the whale shark is as large as a truck, but
                         eats nothing bigger than shrimp.

One of the strangest-looking of all the sharks is the hammerhead.
Its eyes and nostrils are at either end of its T-shaped head! The shark

moves its head from side to side, using it to feel for the faint electrical
signals made by prey. Once found, the fish don’t stand a chance—

the hammerhead’s razor-sharp teeth soon finish the job!

Many sharks will grow and lose

thousands of teeth over their lifetime.

As the old teeth fall out, new ones

                                                                  move to the front.
