Bug

S o far we have found 80,000 species of bug. Every year

we keep finding new ones. Not all insects are bugs. To be

bugs, they have to have a sharp beak to suck up food with.

Many are vegetarian, but others are deadly hunters.

Bugs are an amazing bunch. Cicadas are so noisy they keep

people awake at night. Pond skaters can walk on the surface of
water. Froghoppers jump more than one hundred times their body
length, and stink bugs fire smelly bombs at their enemies. Thorn bugs

pretend to be sharp thorns. This clever camouflage works best when

they gather on a branch, so they can safely poke their mouths into
the plant to drink the sap inside.
