JUNIOR MEAT GOAT SHOWS

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE JUNIOR MEAT GOAT SHOW
1. Exhibitors must be under 21 years of age as of January 1, 2019, and North Carolina residents.
2. Only wethers with all baby teeth and weighing 30 pounds and over will be allowed to show in the market classes.
3. There will be two commercial doe classes: (1) does with all baby teeth and (2) does that have lost at least one baby tooth and
older.
4. No animal will be allowed to enter more than one class in the Junior Meat Goat Show.
5. Each exhibitor may exhibit a total of two junior market goats and two commercial does per doe class
6. Market classes will be determined by ascending weights and age with a maximum of 10 animals per class.
7. Commercial does will be classed according to weight and age classifi cation.
8. The Health Regulations of the Veterinary Division of the N.C. Department of Agriculture will be strictly enforced. Be sure to
read these under “Rules and Regulations of the Livestock Division” before entering. Animals cannot be unloaded until checked
in. All sheep and goats must comply with USDA Scrapie Eradication Program Guidelines. (State request form can be found
behind Livestock Entry Form.)
9. Notice: All horns should be tipped and dull for the safety of the junior exhibitors.
10.Got to Be NC tags must be present for eligibility in Got to Be NC Champion drive.
