“It would seem from the initial DNA analysis; that your, and our, previous assumption that the Kryst
were the race responsible for the genetic sequence coding was entirely wrong. From the trace DNA
evidence left by the probes constructors, the Kryst too had the code and in the same base pairs. This
means that there must be an even older race out there that has traversed both galaxies! They may
even have come from another Galaxy altogether!” she said her crest throbbing and flushing blue in
excitement.
“Another race! Have you and your people communicated this back to the Unity yet?” Hart asked
“Our Captain wants to hold back until more tests and finer results come through before we do send
this information. I can ask him to hold off till he’s confered withyou, if you wish” she replied
“It might be prudent; to do as your Captain says, but I’d like to see those further findings myself
before we make a joint transmission.” Hart said and dismissed the excited Untharan. This was
unsettling news, it had long been assumed that the originating race that implanted the Genetic
Cypher, would have been from this Galaxy or the other where the Unat and Osir came from. This
was definitely going to cause a stir back home. She went into Coms and asked to have a direct link, if
at all possible, with the Keterian First Minister. Coms said it would take at least an hour to get a
stable link, the ion storms around the rift were taking longer to subside than expected. She asked to
be informed the moment the link was established.

When the Crystal discs were examined in the lab; it was immediately
obvious that they differed from Krall discs in one obvious respect. They all
had the same geometric design etched into the surface. On the clear discs
this was difficult to see, but the red one showed it prominently. The
symbology was not the usual eight pointed kind.
“From what I’ve seen so far, I don’t think these are Krall in origin. They’re
closely related, but this six pointed symbology doesn’t fit. I wonder if the
Kryst obtained their technology from the Krall or …” Lorna was saying when
Krysta interrupted
“The two races may be related in some way, distant cousins perhaps” Krysta said. Finishing the
sentence Lorna was about to put forward.
“Maybe; but from what we’ve been able to gather, the Krall had eight limbs, hence the eight pointed
star, that was when they were predominately biological I’ve seen the glyph representations of the
Kryst and the holographic image from the information exchanged during the first communique. The
Kryst appear to be more homonid like. The Krall opted for cybernetic enhancements and complete
mechanisation, apart from the brain and spinal chord toward the end of their physical form of
existence” Lorna added
“I’d read that in the information you sent through in the history archives. I’m a fast reader and a
quick learner, you’ll get to know just what I mean if you test me!” Krysta said smiling broadly. The
two women then put the red crystal into the reader. It took several attempts at refining the reading
focus, but what eventually came through seemed to confirm what the two sides had inferred from
studying the Kryst.
“The Kryst language was based on allegories, metaphors and similies, it’s hard to translate, but
thanks to an Untharan aceaology expedition, we have a working translation matrix… of sorts.”Lorna
said as she inputed the results to the ships Hive. As expected it came out with the afore mentioned
weird syntax, but it became clear that it was some sort of index of the contents of the other crystals.
There were inferences to the Hagunenon, the Hadra and the Krall as “colleagues of discovery and
conquor” It was also inferred that the Kryst had evolved along side the Krall, but had stayed true to
their biological roots.
“We had suspected for some time that the Krall had not evolved alone on the worlds we found
traces of them on. I think you were right to conclude that the Kryst were a kind of “cousin” race to
the Krall. They probably coexisted on a home world at one point in their history, hence the faint
similarity in the language Glyphs.” Lorna said after the two of them had read through some more of
