He and his parents were heading back to Kandahar; Jovhar had a new job as Inter-Species Relations
Ambassador, a prestigious role indeed. Hivlar had found a position in one of the research
laboratories on one of Kandahar’s two moons. She could take Fenrir with her; Jovhar would
commute to and from Kandahar, the process being made simpler thanks to the Transporter pads and
terminus installed by the Unity engineers. On the whole it looked like the Unity had new and
powerful allies in the remote regions, a new insight into the origins of some races, and a new
direction in which to search - The Third Galaxy.

Events were underway that would see a complete overturning of the views held about the
Curators. The Ulahri and the Alurak had found a solution to the Ulahri reproduction and survival
problems. Keteria was integrated fully into the Unity and a sense of joyous wellbeing was spreading
out; even to the Second galaxy. There the Gantrax expansion had been brought to a standstill; but a
resolution still had to be found for they posed a terrible threat to the rest of the Universe if one was
not found. The relative peace was really little more than a minor pause. It would be about three
years before a fleet of ships from all sectors of the Unity would assemble for the expedition to the
Third galaxy. Chief among these was a new class of vessel equipped with T’luha’s Quantum Fold
Dispersion drives. It would be the first ship to enter the new domain; scouting out the best targets
for the rest of the fleet to do the in depth exploration. A name had been chosen from Old Earth’s
past that seemed to fit the craft precisely… Endeavour! Emblazoned on the side of its hull a motto in
ancient Latin…

“Per Ardua Ad Astra”
