are even stranger than those Flutvarn; always reticent, barely communicating and insanely remote. I
understand from what I managed to pick out of the telepathic exchanges that you have with you
some of their missing people” He said after introductions were made with the rest of the crew. He
made to hug T’luha but she glared at him and he thought better of it. Fenrir took an instant liking to
him; and the two were soon great friends. Hivlar was pleased that the boy was interacting as it
would be a step toward his integrating into Kryst society; something usually done at an early stage,
but with no other Kryst on Grevin he was behind in comparison. Vidal was drawn to the Exo-suit at
first, but was soon distracted when one of the Female Mechanoids arrived. Is first question of Tom
was if she was… equipped? Tom got the drift of this and said quite genuinely he wasn’t sure. Vidal
was even more surprised when one of them asked the same of him.
During a long debriefing with the other Kryst, Jovhar and Hivlar said their respective tales.
The Kryst Captain kept nodding occasionally and smiling at the end. Fenrir kept out of the way and
played a form of chess with Vidal and Tom that required three participants. The Kryst ship was called
Sidon Mara; and had nowhere near the top speed of the Veklaar, so Krysta agreed to keep within the
Sidon’s limits. Vidal taking the opportunity to get to know the Veklaar’s crew better; decided to tag
along, besides, Fenrir had taken a shine to him, so much so Jovhar asked Vidal to be Fenrir’s Shuptal.
The term carried a similar meaning and formality to Human God Parent. Trok; T’luha and Tom soon
found themselves the interest of the Sidon Mara’s Engineering team. Hubris and Jennifer were
enamoured of by the Bio-Sciences section of the Kryst crew. It led to them having a great
interchange of data and ideas. More about the Kryst and their language soon disseminated back and
forth between crews and the Unity Hive-Net. It passed the long days the Journey to Kandahar took.
They were almost upon the Kryst home
star system when Hivlar offered to take Jennifer
and the other women to the Jing Ivar Falls near
to Metria Capital City. They had sailboat rides
there in the evenings; all female only ones.
“Think of it as a break from the formalities of
your mission and the “First Contact” protocols.
Besides; the vessels carrying your various
dignitaries would not arrive for a couple of
months” she almost sounded like she was
pleading. Fenrir had mastered a sort of “puppy
dog” look that melted the heart and he was using
it on Krysta right now.
“Ok! We’ll do that”. The other women screamed a joyous “YES” and did a fist punch in the air. The
men just shrugged and carried on doing what they were doing. The journey to Kandahar was almost
complete when they were treated to a remarkable sight. A pod of Space Whales had settled into a
“holding pattern” around a lone female. In plain view of the two crews the huge creature gave birth.
The calf nuzzled up to its huge mother sending out a kind of mewling sound over the Sub space
static. She replied with a series of low frequency warbles and the Pod moved in the direction of an
asteroid filed as one. It was then that they caught the first glimpse of Kandahar. It was a large world,
with seas and oceans, interspersed with six continents. The star Y’Idvar; was a vivid Blue-White
medium sized stable one. (Some Blue and Blue-White stars became unstable exploded) Kandahar
itself was in eclipse to the ships, but when they circled to the Star facing side they were greeted with
spectacular views. The main land mass where Metria resided had a huge central mountain and the
city circled around the base of it. Rivers and waterways radiated out from this “hub” and fed lakes
and coastal regions. The Jing Ivar Falls that Hivlar mentioned formed the hub ward side of one of
these lakes; it was a deep royal blue in colour. Krysta understood why Hivlar had suggested the boat
