added reading from a Library terminal she’d managed to power up” There are records here going
back thousands of years. The building and its contents eventually ended up in the possession of one
Diego Montanez-Chang!” Sandra finished
“I know that name… He belonged to the Matsu-Hiro-Chin dynasty family line. He went rogue and set
up a sort of revived Yakuza. It didn’t do him much good; he vanished mysteriously around the time
of the First Expansion. I always knew my history studies would prove useful. Many rumours
circulated that he may have deliberately left his underlings to suffer the wrath of the Authorities at
the time. Reports of him appearing in one place or another still pop up. But he’d be exceedingly old
by now; even with longevity treatments” Lance added
“There’s a reference to a “Sarcophagus” that’s located in another vault on this floor” Sandra stated
“You don’t think? ...” the two of them looked at each other and as one shouted “Harriman; Chalmers
get down here!” into their coms…

Helen didn’t believe what the young policeman was saying; she couldn’t believe. But there it
was on the screen; the CCTV footage from Felicia’s “Nanny Cam”. As the detective replayed the
sequence over and over she felt sick. On the screen the electrics of the Hospital spluttered and
flickered. Arthur had woken because of the drama and had thrown the bed sheets across the room.
Then in a dark moment a glow had appeared around him; his face contorted then… There was a
bright flash and he was gone. A few moments later a smaller flash appeared above the bed and the
Crystal Ball materialised and fell onto the centre of the bed. The Crystal ball she was now holding;
the very one he’d lost at the time of the incident. A hand reached over and took the Ball from her
she tried to resist but decided not to when her Gran put a hand on her shoulder
“It’s best really Helen. They’ll examine it and try to find out where it’s been. Though from what
we’ve just seen on the footage. It’s obvious that Arthur was “taken” by “them”” Felicia said. Douglas
Markham took the Ball and put it into an evidence box
“We’ve been checking up on these disappearances and other related incidents since Roswell. The
Russians and the Americans too; though we haven’t been able to check, we think similar things have
been happening in Asia and China. Japan hasn’t responded either; but an insider said their
Government is worried. Especially since the CEO of a certain Electronics Giant went missing” he said
flatly. He gave the box to an aide and whispered some instructions to him. The aide left quickly and
Markham’s driver returned shortly afterwards. “I’m sorry I have to cut and run; Helen, Felicia,
Detective Vance, but we need to act on this quickly. We found from other items the residual traces
decay and vanish in about two hours at most.” He added and put on his hat and left. Helen
shuddered. The hospital ward seemed suddenly colder
“Ministry types! Hate their interference. You should have said you were monitoring Mr Cunningham
Mrs Grantham. It would have saved us a great deal of wading through red tape. But it’s obvious now
that we in the Police are going to be kept out of the loop. At least you know that something is being
done Miss” Vance directed the last statement at Helen. He made his goodbyes and the young
policeman guided the two of them out to Felicia’s car. After he’d gone back inside to “secure the
scene” the two women got into the car.
“Gran: what do you actually know of what’s been going on, and not just with Arthur?” Helen
confronted her Gran. Felicia was silent for a moment or two
“Strictly speaking; I shouldn’t, however… You will recall the Roswell incident I take it?” She quizzed.
Helen nodded. “Well it’s all related we think. I; and a number of civilian “Professionals” were
recruited into a special branch of MI6. We’ve been monitoring events all over Britain; and with our
American and Russian counterparts, we have amassed a great deal of accounts. The body of the girl
is one of the most recent of the failed returns we think. Arthur’s case was unusual. He seems to have
been targeted for remote monitoring or experimentation. I was assigned to his case as I’m related to
you. And I have to admit; in a way I’m glad for that…” She went on to explain about the discovery of
crashed craft; bodies and other stuff. Helen remained silent throughout with a blank expression.
After all she was slightly psychic…
