Chapter1

A Blast from the past

Terraforming the old home world was taking longer than expected. The Impact object had a
core of highly radioactive elements and had triggered some unusual reactions with elements already
present in the planetary crust, magma and core. This had resulted in some serious overheating and
disruption of the crust. A few areas of the crust were viable but no sign of further solidification had
surfaced until very recently. The team currently overseeing the project had been drawn from a
number of the worlds within The Unity. Representatives from Flutvar, Aleutia Colony Provox, Mira in
the Achenazi sector, Terra Prime of course and some of the Buraxin Alliance worlds. The current
command team consisted of two representatives from the former Dark Empire, a Nephel called
Humerus and a genetically modified human called Georg Zanti. The latter representing the
Governance of Kiel, one of the worlds of the Dark Empire which was now referred to as The Sonoran
Trust.

The current commander of the Terraformers, an Aleutian called Fenton Briggs, was studying
the latest scans of an object found on the recent crust formation of the Arctic region.

“When did it show up?” he asked

“It just appeared on the scans twelve hours ago” replied
Geochemist KKtrrrfft, one of two Flutvarn on the orbiter Van
Gogh. The Flutvarn was using a translator ring “The really odd
thing is its composition”

“Oh! What’s odd about it, It’s unusually dense, but…” Fenton
started to say but was interrupted by KKtrrrfft

“Its shell is made of Krall metal! And, judging by the temporal
signature of its outer layers, it’s over 150,000,000 years old!”
the poor Flutvarn was almost purple with excitement.

“WHAT?? But that would put it planet side around the time of
the extinction of the Dinosaurs!” Fenton dropped the scans on
his desk “Has anyone from the other survey teams confirmed this?” He asked as he hurried to the
Trans-pad deck “Come; we need to get Georg on this as soon as possible” he added. Georg was the
team’s expert on everything Krall.

“I took the liberty of calling him and Humerus from the Equatorial orbiter. They’re headed to Terra
Edo now!” KKtrrrfft said and followed Fenton to the Trans-pad deck.

When the Great Exodus was forced upon mankind due to the impending impact of a comet
