went off in Leroy’s sports car. Magnus returned to Hagron and continued “Ah; young love...
I’m satisfied with the wording, Barbra will be peeved, but she was the one who cheated on
me with my business partner. The two of them deserve each other. He’ll get only the shares
he deserves in the dissolution of the firm. Thanks Telford for doing that research by the way;
you were right he had been dealing behind my back with a Caveat Brigade accountancy
outfit. I checked out that business partnership you recommended in the Unity, they are just
the investment I need, thanks again” he signed the “Agreement” papers and shook Hagron
firmly by the hand. “It’s a shame about Carstairs pegging out, my condolences. I might see
you some time while you sort out the business on Ferisa. I’m looking at a property deal on
nearby Nuria in a couple of months’ time”. He got into his Limousine and Hagron put the
papers in his brief case. He signalled for the waiter to charge the bill to Magnus’ account as
agreed. He had a distinct spring in his step as he walked back to the office. The first stage of
the plan had gone smoothly. He had to divert his path around the Force road blocks because
of the Casino blast, but walked into the office with a broad smile on his face.

Splitt was also in a happy mood; Hagron had heard him whistling like that before
when something had gone very right. Splitt was watching a copy of some Vid footage.

“Take a look at this Telford. Things are looking up see if you recognise anyone. My girl in the
Force HQ retrieved the Vid footage of the interior prior and during the Casino blasts. She
sent us a copy by special delivery.”

Telford watched the scene unfold in the upper room. The Casino Boss Cordeaux was having
a “private” game with some business partners. He recognised Danny Spinks the boyfriend of
the Mayor’s youngest daughter; Cindy, who was probably working the ground floor. A figure
walked into the room and Hagron whooped!

“That’s Tom Hasperand’s youngest brother Harry “Houdini”. He works for the Carnegie
Syndicate over in Hedebar. Well; that’s going to cause a stir. He’s their explosives guy; he
may well be the bomber the force is looking for. We couldn’t have asked for a better
distraction!” Splitt hushed him and bid him to continue watching. Harry finished his business
with Cordeaux, who had left his friends to continue playing, and left. That’s when Cindy was
dragged in and into Cordeaux’s office. There was no sound but it was obvious Cordeaux was
fuming at what his thug Vernon was saying about Cindy. He watched the ensuing arguments
with Danny and him and the two love birds being dragged out, but not before Danny had
retrieved the very Vid footage they were watching.

“She’s being accused of fiddling the takings. Harry had a Syndicate crew working the
Tambala scam downstairs by all accounts. They all left, Harry minus his brief case, just
before the explosion which happens just around thirty-five minutes from this point. The
carnage is sickening and the vid breaks up around then. The bomb was a special it kicked out
an E.M.P that fried the security circuits before the blast took out the building, that kind of
equipment don’t come cheap. Whoever Carnegie was in cahoots with has a lot of clout. The
second blast from the gas destroyed the rest of the security recordings” Splitt commented.

“Whoever they are they just gave us the break we need to clear out and get safe. You
should give that cousin of yours a few extra notes for this. Don’t leave that copy lying
