around, find a secure hiding place in the luggage and we’ll take it with us.” He got the
Mescal out for a second celebratory shot. As they drank Hagron recounted how the meeting
had gone. Sometime later they’d drunk half the bottle before closing up shop and heading
back to their apartments to start their packing. Splitt taking the Vid footage copy with him.
He’d keep it in his shielded money belt while they travelled. Customs at the border where
they were going to cross were not too keen on body searches so all should go well.
We three kings…
The Vasilly Triplets new client had given them a substantial advance to help them
create the necessary cover they needed for their departure to the Unity. They would,
ostensibly, be Entrepreneurs from the Gildar Colony seeking to invest in the Unity markets.
Thanks to Mundey’s forgery skills all their papers and documents would fool even the most
sophisticated detection equipment. An education at The Assassins Foundation was a well-
rounded one. Morden had sorted out a decent Speeder for their flight and Marven was busy
finishing up settling their Hotel bills and expenses. They had packed with just the right
amount of luggage to make the cover look right. Most of it was the spoils from the hit and
linen scrounged from the Hotel’s outgoing laundry. The items they’d taken from Whelks
would not arouse suspicion, and the linen was plain with no Hotel identifying logos. No one
would notice until they were long gone. Why waste money on trivial things that they
wouldn’t actually need. They were meeting up just past the border with a rogue Buraxin
Trader they’d used before. He would then take them and their speeder close to their
destination. It was all going well. They didn’t know who’d arranged the Casino bombing but
it gave them the perfect distraction for their departure. Morden was checking the
ownership documents of the Speeder he’d just got from the dealer.
“These may be legit, but I think your work would have sufficed brother” he grinned at
Mundey “But we can’t take chances with what we’ve got to do, and whom we are going to
dehume!” he said when the dealer’s courier droid had left. He went over the plan with them
one more time. Making sure they knew all their false identity details off by heart. They were
the Kings of Leon Investment Bureau Limited. They would be using their own first names,
but their surname would now be Jorgensen. A Thule family name and legitimate as it was a
distant cousins. They had their histories ingrained and they even had the accent exact. They
would depart for the Spaceport around noon tomorrow; taking things easy. There they’d get
their Speeder and make their way to the Border Hyperspace Gateway. All being well they
should be through customs investigation and in Unity space by around three in the
afternoon.
As they had expected the Hotel staff didn’t take any notice of the discrepancy in the
amount of luggage they had with them. It was a busy day, a load of college fraternity boys
checking in, and they were short staffed.
“I’ve been doing my research of our two target’s habits and I think I’ve found the ideal chink
in their armour!” Marven said quietly as they waited in the lobby for their lift to the
Spaceport. “He’s a victim of his need for speed and she is a fashionista. Both are extremely
wealthy, but it’s all rifled from their Cartel friends. It was they who ordered the hit” he
added.
