outsider that has been trying to spark another War. I know that your time is drawing to an
end so I’ll trouble you no further. I thank you for what insight you have been able to give.”
Lomax concluded his conversation

“Think nothing of it. If future historians want my knowledge it will be available on the Hive-
net, I’m having my memories downloaded into one of the new Bio-Hive Artificial Intelligence
units. Apparently it will have my personality too. Good luck with your quest young man”
Aurelius replied. Lomax made his goodbyes and headed to the Contessa’d Largo Central
Exchange Transport hub. He stopped himself short and realised he was only a short distance
from the home of an old friend and former archivist Jason Ludar-Hallaran. He would be at
least fifty by now; but unlike most of his line, had become an engineer, Nano tech being his
speciality. Something that Forensics had said about the Singorian Brandy had sparked this
idea. He sent Jason a message via his communicator and awaited a reply. He did not have
long to wait; the communicator buzzed he answered the call.

“Steve; It’s been a long time. Wait where you are I’ll be with you shortly. I was just going to
lunch at a new Achenazi place in town, join me and we’ll catch up a little. I’m just stepping
into the pod at Julian Clarey Mansions now. You anywhere near Hendon and Fifth
Insurance?” Jason asked

“I’m near their offices the transporter pod’s undergoing maintenance so you could be re-
routed to the down town service. If I remember my Geography right I’ll meet you at Queens
and twelfth. It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk. If you mean that restaurant opposite Helga’s
Gymnasium, I hadn’t realised it had changed hands” Lomax replied

“No; the new place is just along from there, nearer the park entrance. Transporting now”
Jason said and the communicator hissed at the channel disconnected. Lomax set off walking
in the direction he’d said to meet Jason at. Jason was there waiting as he arrived. He was his
usual ebullient self. He gave Lomax a hearty man hug and pointed the way to the restaurant.
They set of at a pace that almost had Lomax breathless.

“Why are you rushing around, are they that busy?” Lomax asked as they slowed their pace a
little.

“They are always busy around this time, it quietens a little, but I want to get a table in the
rotunda” he replied pointing to a structure beside the Park entrance.

“The old Spaceport tower, when did they ship that thing out here. I see what you were
getting at now” Lomax said excitedly and they ran the rest of the way. They had always
been competitive even when going through the Thule Academy. They made it in time to get
a window seat overlooking most of the midtown area and the Central Park. Jason asked for
two menus and a Drinks list. The Waitress was a pretty young Achenazi girl and she had a
very attractive smile. Jason ordered a starter for each of them and let Lomax choose what
he wanted from the main meal menu; he ordered Haravad Pancakes
with salad, a meat filling and rich gravy. Jason ordered the Lupka Grill,
lava bread and suggested they drink Shebra an herbal brew and
ordered a pot. While they waited for their order to arrive; Lomax filled
Jason in on the recent events, leaving no details out.
