Evaluate domestic wiring connection and debug any faults occurred.
Identify an appropriate method of heating and welding for any particular industrial
application.
Realize the appropriate type of electrical supply system as to evaluate the performance of
tractions and electrical drives.

Construction and working principle, emf equation, torque equation, starting and running characteristics,
speed control, braking, duty of operation, choice of motors.
UNIT II TRANSFORMERS 9
Construction and working principle, equivalent circuit, regulation and efficiency, autotransformers,
industrial applications – welding transformer and furnace transformer.
UNIT III THREE PHASE INDUCTION MACHINES 9
Construction and working principle. Induction motors – torque equation, torque–slip characteristics,
starting and running characteristics, speed control, braking, choice of motor for industrial applications
and traction.
