Many times the proctors are former devotion
leaders or have held some sort of leadership
positions. When choosing proctors, the Dean of
Women, Dean of Men and the Resident Advisors
look for qualities of trustworthiness, restraint, and
the ability to keep conversations confidential. The
most important quality is the candidates’ state of
spiritual affairs. After their names have been
submitted to the administration the students
records are overveiwed for past leadership
positions and demerit records. Once a final list has
been approved, the names are announced to the
student body, faculty, and staff.
