nthusiasm was high for the introduction of a new
organization on campus. Societies have come to
Clearwater Christian College. Of the original
twelve groups, six are for men and six are for
women. These association were formed for the
social, spiritual, and physical benefits of the
students. The intramural sports program will be
based on society teams. An initial group of six
officers and six charter members formed the core
of each society.
The core designed posters, talked with friends,
and otherwise persuaded people to join their
society. The week long “Rush” culminated
Thursday, April 22, with a grand finale which
consisted of skits and short speeches which
explained what each society represented. After
hearing about each society and what they had to
offer, potential members made their choice. The
officers were poised and ready to induct their new
members.
Regatta (Phi Beta Chi), a womens society,
attracted the most new members. The catch
phrase ending their skit was “The Opportunities
are Endless with Phi Beta Chi!”
Under the leadership of Jennifer Nightingale and Jennifer Brewer, Sigma
Delta Chi takes a moment to pray before Dr. Walter Grubbs begins to
introduce the societies on the evening of rush.
