Among the many devotion leaders
he responsibilities of devotion

devotional and prayer time. Some Becky Hilton, devotion leader in
nights devotion groups sing or share Paden Hall, Unit D, also works on
campus as one of our mail
praises. Devotions have proven to be a time where deliverers. She sorts and distributes
the girls in the unit form a bond with each other the women’s mail along with Susan

Another responsibility of a devotion leader is to
be sure the girls in the unit are taking steps to
grow in their spiritual lives. One way to do this is
to ask them if they are reading their Bibles and
having a consistant prayer life. This responsibility
works two ways because the devotion leader must
be consistent in these areas in order to check up
on anyone alse in the unit.
Another role expected of the devotion leader in
the girls dorm, is to be a “mom”. There are many
times there is homesickness and trials where the
devotion leader can be the comfort away from
home. In the men’s dorm the devotion leaders
hold the same spiritual responsibility toward the
men; however, the emotional needs of their peers
are much different than what they do not have the
situations. -Becky Hilton
Exhibiting her usual attitude of
helpfulness and cheerfulness, Tricia
Parsons tries to relieve some of
Sarah Deuel’s mounting tension with
a quick shoulder massage as they
study in the library. After wading
through several books to complete
her research for her Methods of
Physical Education paper, Sarah was
“tied up in knots.”
