The First Shall Be Last And
THE LAST
SHALL BE
FIRST.
B y the first few weeks of the fall
semester, many of the class
officers elections have already
been held. Such is not the case
for the freshman class. Their elections
are held off for eight weeks in order for
the students to become better aquainted
with each other. During this time the
students seek out those whom they
believe will lead most effectively their
class through the first year of college.
Emily Upchurch from Orlando, FL says,
“As a freshman, it takes a while to break
the ice beyond simple name and face
recognition. We are given the time it
takes to get to know one another as
leaders and friends in the class room, in
the dorm, and in the gym or in the dining
hall.”
The officers have already shown their
leadership capabilities in areas such as the
freshmen class social and their positive
attitudes towards other students.
mm
Freshman class officers are Richard Rossiter, Choirister; Weslee
Williams, President; Jerry Kassner, Chaplain; Emily Upchurch,
Secretary; Jenny Musgrave, Treasurer; and Robin Bonnell, Vice-
President.
