aising up an institution of higher learning
is a struggle. Maintaining its original focus
and smooth operation is just as formidable.
Only by God’s power have Dr. George D.
Youstra and his administration been able to
further the work begun by and built upon
the vision of Dr. Arthur E. Steele.
When one views the campus, God’s grace
is evident. Increased enrollment over the
past few years has required the hiring of
new faculty, the construction of new
buildings, and the extensive remodeling of
existing structures.
The most recent building project is
Merritts Hall. Dr. James W. Munro met
with city and county supervisors to
hammer out the details before construction
of the addition to the men’s residence hall
could begin. He saw God’s hand move
mightily numerous times preparing the way
for its completion.
Enjoying an evening of fun and games at a social sponsored by the
Business club, Rachel Schroeder’s infectious enthusiasm is quite
obvious by the smile she flashes for the camera. Her bright smile is
a source of encouragement and cheer for all who meet her on the
sidewalk or on her job in the administrative offices.
