M ARK SHELLEY SUTTON
It is a rarity when so little can accomplish so much. Since his arrival at Moses Brown in the 7th
grade, Mark has established himself as one of the more engaging and unusual students. He has
confounded many teachers with his ability to excel despite his boisterous manner. No social out
cast, Mark has enlivened innumerable parties, occasionally ducking punches thrown by confused,
frustrated, and irate football players. Mark should encounter few difficulties in adjusting to the
collegiate life. His love-hate relationship with MB settled, Mark can now concentrate on preparing
for his future career as a pharmacist.

K IR K AN TH O N Y SYKES
"I believe any dream that I want to
That ain't the only way of keepin’ hope alive
And if by chance I give birth to my visions
Life is so fantastic, it will come as no surprise
It is real if it’s only in your mind.
In your mind.”
— Minnie Ripperton
Kirk Sykes has a propensity for the insane. Although he left us in time to catch another season of
Alpine snow, we can all remember his death defying stunts on the skateboard. The rumors that a
jealous freshman skate-boarder smeared grease on his axels and dared him to skate down College
Hill are absolutely untrue. W e will not presume to guess, however, how many more daring runs
Kirk will make down the Swiss slopes before his bindings give up in disgust. But until that time,
we hope Kirk’s successes are at least as tall as he is.
DOUGLAS RO BERT TINGLE
Doug is almost a gauge of activity at MB — his presence on the front porch is a sign that school is
functioning as usual. Doug also appeared regularly on the baseball field, where he was renowned
for his fielding skills and his accurate throwing arm. Only when a skateboard accident hampered
his further participation, did Doug miss a baseball practice. His soft-spoken manner, sincerity, and
congeniality will undoubtedly endear him to anyone he encounters in his future endeavors.
