What are the necessary ingredients for a successful Awards
Banquet? A good meal, a couple of good skits, some good
awards, and one or two good surprises. This Awards Banquet
was so good, in fact, that we could even use a few superlatives.
The Student Council, with Bob Wilier the MC, did a
superlativejob of planning and decorating, Mr. Carver
brought down the house with “The Bob and Ed Show”
(although actually it wasjust the Bob Show as a result of the
illness of our beloved Dr. O.). The awards and recognitions
(for the most part) held our attention, and the senior wills
were read and heard with great solemnity. The best surprise of
the evening, though, was what took place in the absence of a
speaker: graduating seniors gave impromptu testimonies of
what the College has meant to them. The evening, on the
whole, was a rare experience.
