ITUCKY HIGH SCHOOL                                             The  2009  Covinqton Catholic
                                                                             Cross Country Team had one of the
                                                                             best seasons  in more than a decade.
                                                                             With very stronq  senior  leadership,
                                                                             the Colonels dominated the field for
                                                                             much of the cross country  season.
                                                                               They  had touqh competition  in  both
                                                                             Ohio and Kentucky and  proved they
                                                                             could flex their muscles aqainst any
                                                                             size  school. They were ranked
                                                                             number one for much of the  season  in
                                                                             all of the coaches'  poll.  They easily
                                                                             won the  9th reqion tournament, and
                                                                             were heavily favored to win state.
                                                                               Despite their best efforts, South
                                                                             Oldham  beat the Colonels  by a
                                                                             meaqer nine  points.  With a score
                                                                             that close, the result could  have
                                                                             come out either way.  nonetheless,
                                                                             the Covinqton Catholic Cross Country
                                                                             Team  proved to the state that they
                                                                             are a team to  be reckoned with,  and
                                                                             their influence will not  be forqotten.
