The Colonel  basketball team  in
                                                                               2009- f 0 had an up and down
                                                                               season all year  lonq. They started
                                                                               out qoinq  3-3  losinq to Lex Cath
                                                                               and St.  Henryr  but then winninq
                                                                               two in a row aqainst McNick  and
                                                                               Ryle. This team  had a  very
                                                                               balanced  lineup as Seniors Trevor
                                                                              Wellbrock,  Max  Pauly,  Stephen
                                                                              Wilson,  and Cole Heimbrock  led
                                                                              the way with Jake Thelen and
                                                                              A lex Connelly  helpinq out alonq
                                                                              the way. The team came  in second
                                                                              in the district tournament as they
                                                                              lost to Holmes  in the finals  in a
                                                                              qreat qame. The reqional
                                                                              tournament started  in an overtime
                                                                              thriller as the Colonels defeated
                                                                              St.  Henry  in double OT. The team's
                                                                              next qame was aqainst the  up and
                                                                              cominq Wildcats of Newport who
                                                                              proved to  be too much to handle
                                                                              as they defeated CCH  in the semi­
                                                                              finals of the reqion.
                                                                                The team ended the season  18-
                                                                               13, and the Colonels  look to
                                                                              extend their winninq ways next
                                                                              year with Jake,  A lex, Brett
                                                                              Riedinqer,  and Drew Baker  leadinq
                                                                              the way.
