The  2009 Colonel Golf Team had
                                                                              high goals and aspirations heading into
                                                                              the season. With returning senior Mickey
                                                                              Sutton who had  3 gears varsity
                                                                              experience, junior Andrew Kendall with
                                                                              2 years under his belt, and senior Alex
                                                                              Ammerman, the team looked strong.
                                                                               The Colonels traveled throughout the
                                                                              state during the year and played with
                                                                              the best golfers that the state of
                                                                              Kentucky has to offer. The team had a
                                                                              few good finishes in the state wide
                                                                              tournaments, including a 4th place
                                                                             finish at the Taylor County Cardinal
                                                                             Classic. The Northern Kentucky Athletic
                                                                             Conference tournament was the
                                                                             highlight of the year for the Colonels as
                                                                             they shot an outstanding  299, with very
                                                                             strong  performances by Alex
                                                                             Ammerman and Mickey Sutton with
                                                                             scores of  73 which tied these  2 seniors
                                                                             for first place. The Regional Tournament
                                                                             was a disappointment as the team came
                                                                             in  2nd place while being led by
                                                                             Ammerman again. The State
                                                                             Tournament was mired by heavy rains
                                                                             and the Colonels had to play through
                                                                             the tough conditions and managed to
                                                                             come in  14th place with Josh Moorman
                                                                             leading the way.
                                                                              Next year's team looks to bring back
                                                                             the regional title with Andrew Kendall,
                                                                             Josh Moorman, and Joey Fredrick
                                                                             returning with Varsity experience.
