St . T heresa' s Da y
St. Theresa’s Day is the oldest and, arguably, m ost favorite of
Holy Child traditions. Every year Holy Child students celebrate
die invaluable achievments of our founder, Cornelia Connelly
w ith fun, games, dress down, and m ost importantly, free ice
cream. This year the St. Theresa’s Day fesitivites were a little
different as girls were given an im portant task: re tiling the
Cafeteria. Fortunately for our creative students, this task did
not involve the physical grouting of the tiles, but instead their
decoration. W hile greiving the loss of afternoon classes, the
girls gathered around in advisor groups to design their own
little pieces of Holy Child history. Pictures had to fall into one
of the assigned categories, but creative freedom was certainly
exercised on every tile. The them es included things found at
Holy Child, w hether com m on scenes, m em orable m om ents,
o r W isd o m , C o n fid e n ce , and F rie n d sh ip . T h e o n ly
disappointm ent o f the day was the girls’ return to the w hite
washed walls o f the Cafeteria, but this regret subsided w hen
the m om en t everyone had been waiting for finally arrived,
the ice cream. St. Theresa’s Day was yet again a great one and
Cornelia Connelly would certainly have been proud.
