Students Against Drunk Driving had a very successful year. Headed
by Mrs. Byrne, the club showed videos to the student body about
what alcohol and drugs can do to your system. SADD had sched
uled a simulated drunk driving experiment to show the students
exactly what driving under the influence feels like. Unfortunately,
due to rainy weather, it was canceled. The club also led an excit
ing activity during which raffle tickets were given out to every
one wearing their seatbelts on their way into school one m orn
ing. Luckily, most of the wonderful students and staff were wear
ing their belts! Great job girls!

ITV stands for Instructional Television, and in Holy Child’s
ITV Club, students have the opportunity to write, direct
and film their own informational TV program. This year,
ITV chose plastic surgery as their topic for research. In the
program, they discussed reasons why Americans choose
plastic surgery, as well as the ethicality of such procedures.
One of the most interesting segments examined the con
cept of teenage plastic surgery from the adolescent stand
point of the club’s participators. Writing, editing, and tap
ing the news program was a lot of work, but everyone
thought it was both fun and fascinating.
