one on a 71-yard punt return, the other on a 12-yard sweep. Battling

The Quaker eleven led 22-14 late in the game, but an intercepted M.B.
pass was run back 51 yard for a touchdown, and, with the two-point
conversion, Pomfret tied the score. In the final game of the season,
Thayer, undefeated, untied, and unscored-upon, crushed a spirited M.B.
        eleven, 44-0.
Throughout the season, linemen Jim Medoff (co-captain), John
Brewster, Terry Haas, and Lou Jackvony were outstanding on offense
and defense. The backfield was highlighted by co-captain Mike Rotelli
and quarterback Dave Wetzel. The Quakers placed four players on
the first and second Rhode Island All-Prep elevens, Co-Captains Jim
Medoff and Mike Rotelli were elected to the first team, while the

placed on the second team. The season officially ended at the annual
Football Banquet on Saturday, February 6. The evening was high
lighted by the awarding of the Quaker Most Valuable Player Award
