Barons “Cut the Net”

                                      at Class A Fest

With the Barons shooting .750 from the free throw line
and .467 from the field, they had little trouble posting three
victories in the Class A tournament. Field goal shooting of
                21 for 34 against K-Town and 22-38 against Frankfurt
highlighted the entire tournament. Of the six Bitburg
"starters", the tourney fans saw the lowest FT average at
.636 and the FG average at .417. Those statistics were fan
                 tastic!
They netted the Barons the championship, three All-Star
spots, the tourney's MVP and the Ted Ryall award for indi
vidual mental attitude. Honors went to White (MVP and
All-Star), Lovett (All-Star), Bates (All-Star), and Tom Lol-

Following the tournament. Coach Bob Gaittens was
interviewed by Ben Abrams of "Stars and Stripes” and
I ony Butera of AFN . . . and the Bates brothers (with the
aid of Kelly Trusty) cut down the championship net!
