Barons
Defeat
K-Town
on Great
Defensive
Effort
Ben Abrams of the "Stars and
Stripes” called it the greatest
defensive effort he had seen in
DODDSEUR basketball this
year . . . but the Barons just saw
it as one of their regular games.
They had limited foes to 47.5
pomts-per-game during the regu
lar season.
So their defensive effort of 46
wasn't so unusual to them.
It came in the second round of
the Class A tournament . . . and
resulted in a 61-46 triumph for
the Barons. Dennis White was
high for the Barons with 17. But
Lee Bates hit 12. Bubba Owens
and Bob Lovett had 10 each.
Kenny Smith caged eight and
Tom Lollis added six in a real
team effort.
