here's a member of DECA
               that knows more that goes
^ on than anyone else does.
He doesn't pay dues, in fact he
doesn't even talk, but to leave him tiardwcrkinsf
out of the group would be out of the
question. His name is Sylvester, and
yes he is a stuffed cat.
This stuffed cat has been involved-
in all of DECA's (Distributive Education
al Club of America) activities for the
past two and a half years.
"I just wanted to try something
that was different and fun," said Gary
        Waldron, DECA sponsor.
            DECA member Linda Burkhalter
added, “I think having Syl (nickname
used) sets us apart from the DECA
        clubs in other schools."
            DECA member Jerilyn Hynes said
that she also "though it made it a little
        more interesting."
            The weather of October affected
everyones' need for a vacation even
this stuffed mascot of DECA. Syl
disappeared for about a week. When
he returned a note was fastened to
his chest reading, "I had a great
        vacation in Jamaica. You shouldn't
have worried! Syl." It is still unknown as
        to whom arranged this extravagant
trip for him. Rumor has it that a few
