Rhapsody in Stardust’
Seniors basked in the spotlight as the Junior Class saluted
them with the 1966 Junior-Senior Prom May 14. The role of the
senior during prom time is totally different than that of the
junior. The juniors flitter around working to decorate the gym,
preparing the refreshments, and generally planning the evening's
schedule. The seniors, on the other hand, spend most of their
time ribbing the juniors about their unorganized plans, acting-
like they don't care if the prom is held and then trying to pump
vital information out of the unsuspecting underclassmen.
The evening flies by with that first look at your date, pictures
to be taken, parents to please, holding each other up on the waxed
dance floor, people to meet and tell how simply happy you are to
see them even if you can't remember their names, souvenirs to
"borrow" and parties to attend. But most important is that first
look at the gym in its splendor and being able to call it your own.
It is truly a time to remember. Mike Martin
